Learn how to grant or revoke access when you need help from Notion’s support team.

Buka Pertanyaan Umum

Notion support can only access your account or workspace data to troubleshoot an issue or recover content after you contact support and grant access. There are two separate settings that control what Notion support can do. Below, you’ll find instructions for each one:

  • Allow Notion to access your workspace data.

  • Allow Notion support to act as you in Notion.

These two settings work on their own. Turning one on doesn't turn the other on. Depending on your issue, support may ask you to turn on one or both.

This setting is for your individual account. It lets Notion support act as you to troubleshoot problems you report.

When chatting with Notion support via email or in-app chat, you may be asked for consent to access your account, in order to help with troubleshooting or recovery. To allow account access:

  1. Go to Settings in your sidebar → {your name}.

  2. Under Support, toggle on Support access.

Revoke account access

After you've granted access, Notion's support team will have permission to access your content for 28 days, or until you revoke this access. This timeframe will be visible in-app. To revoke account access at any time:

  1. Go to Settings in your sidebar → {your name}.

  2. Under Support, toggle off Support access.

To allow or revoke support access on Notion for mobile:

  1. Open Notion on mobile and tap •••.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Toggle on or off Support access.

Workspace admins and owners can decide whether Notion can access the workspace for support and troubleshooting. This setting is separate from the personal setting above. The personal setting lets Notion support act as you. The workspace setting lets Notion support access the workspace to help resolve an issue.

Turning on workspace access doesn't let Notion support act as any one person. If support needs to act as a specific person, that person also needs to turn on account access.

  1. Go to Settings in your sidebar → Security.

  2. Toggle on Support access.

Access ends on its own after 28 days by default. You can turn it back on at any time.

  1. Go to Settings in your sidebar → Security.

  2. Toggle off Support access.

Every time workspace data access is given, changed, or ends, it's recorded in the audit log.

If your workspace is part of an Enterprise organization, org admins can manage this setting from your organization settings. They can:

  • Set one policy for every workspace in the organization.

  • Set the policy for each workspace one at a time.

To manage this setting:

  1. Select your organization name in the sidebar, then select Manage organization.

  2. In your organization settings, select Security.

  3. Find and select Workspace support access consent.

  4. Choose a setting for the whole organization, or pick a setting for each workspace in the list.

Each workspace can be set to either:

  • Enabled: Notion support can access that workspace's data. The workspace can't turn this off.

  • Disabled: Notion support can't access that workspace's data. The workspace can't turn this on.

The organization's choice always comes first. If the organization is set to Enabled or Disabled, that choice applies to every workspace, no matter how each workspace is set. To let each workspace decide for itself, set the organization to Workspace managed.

When the organization turns the setting off, the workspace toggle is locked and access stays off. If the organization turns it back on later, the workspace's earlier choice is restored.

Organizations can restrict members from turning on support access for their own accounts with the Allow users to grant support access to accounts setting. Even when this setting is off, an org owner can still turn on support access for a specific person. To do this:

  1. Select your organization name in the sidebar, then select Manage organization.

  2. In your organization settings, select People.

  3. Find and select Manage members .

  4. Find and select the person who needs help from Notion support.

  5. On the General tab, select the Allow support access drop-down to turn on Support access for their account.

Like all support access, this only lets Notion support help with issues that person has reported, and it can be turned off at any time.

Pertanyaan Umum

If this setting is on, what can Notion do?

This setting lets Notion support access your workspace data to help you, like fixing pages or recovering content you've asked about. Notion won't view or change anything without your permission. Before support looks at your data or runs a fix, they'll ask you to approve that specific action first.

I don't remember turning on this setting. Why is it on?

This setting used to be tied to each workspace owner's personal support access. If any owner turned on support access, Notion support could help with the workspace.

Workspace access is now its own setting. If an owner already had support access on, the workspace setting was turned on to match, with the same end date. Nothing new was shared with Notion. You can turn it off at any time in SettingsSecurity.

Who can turn on workspace access?

Workspace admins and owners. In Enterprise organizations, org admins can also manage it from the organization console.

Does account access stay on forever?

No. Account access ends on its own after 28 days by default. You can turn it back on whenever you need to.

Can an org owner turn on support access for just one person?

Yes. An org owner can turn on support access for a single person's account from the organization console. This works even when members can't turn it on themselves.

If workspace access is on, can Notion support also act as me?

No. Workspace access and account access are separate. Each one has to be turned on by itself.
